- Finely chop the onion and garlic clove, fry in vegetable oil for 3 minutes.
- Cut the beef into small pieces and add to the onion and garlic. Add to the pan 1 tbsp. water and simmer covered with a lid until meat is ready.
- Pour a little vegetable oil into a separate pan, add a second chopped clove of garlic and tomatoes in your own juice, salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes.

What is a burrito and what it is eaten with
To begin with, we will understand what a burrito is. This is a traditional Mexican hot appetizer. Its basis is a thin round fresh cake, most often from corn or wheat flour. Sometimes it is prepared from wholemeal flour, tomato paste or a bouquet of dried herbs and spices are added to the dough. The stuffing most often used is minced meat, legumes and all kinds of vegetables. Mexicans love to add various sauces and dressings to these ingredients.
Burritos are wrapped as you like. Some people prefer to put a little filling into the base of the tortilla and roll it without too much difficulty. A more practical option is a closed convolution. To do this, spread the filling in the middle of the tortillas, cover the tortillas with the edges on both sides and tuck one more edge from the bottom. 6. We stand the minced meat in tomato sauce on the fire for another 2-3 minutes.
7. Put the finished stuffing on the tortilla and roll it up.
8. Before serving, brown the burrito in a grill pan.
9. Cut the burrito obliquely, put it on a plate with a salad leaf and add halves of fresh tomatoes.
Burrito with Chicken Breast, Cheese and Yogurt Sauce
The dietary variation of burritos with chicken breast and light sauce is also good. We cut 300 g of chicken fillet into thin slices and fry with chopped onion until golden brown. Cut 2 fresh tomatoes into circles. Cut into slices 100 g of any cheese.
And now the main highlight is yogurt dressing. Grind fresh cucumber on a coarse grater, and 1 cm of ginger root on a fine grater. Pass a clove of garlic through a press. Finely chop a half bunch of parsley. Mix everything with 100 g of Greek yogurt, add salt, black pepper and lemon juice to taste.
Cover a round cake with a sheet of fresh lettuce, mix pieces of chicken, tomato and cheese, mixed with yogurt sauce. It remains to roll up beautiful elegant rolls and lightly heat them in the microwave to melt the cheese.
Burrito for breakfast with minced meat, vegetables and omelet
What are burritos made for breakfast? Alternatively, you can add omelette to the filling - you get an unusual and fairly satisfying variation.
Heat in a deep frying pan 3 tbsp. l vegetable oil and fry 250 g of any minced meat with the addition of white onion, salt and zira. When the mince is browned, pour the sweet pepper into slices and fry for another 5 minutes. Separately, beat 3 eggs with 50 ml of milk, season with salt and black pepper, prepare an ordinary omelet in a separate pan. Then break it into pieces with a wooden spatula. In the same pan, quickly fry a small potato with cubes. We cut 3-4 pickled cucumbers with an average cube and chop a bunch of cilantro.
We combine minced meat with vegetables, omelet slices, potatoes, cucumber and greens. We spread the filling on the tortilla and turn the roll. Before serving, we recommend browning the burritos in a grill pan to golden stripes.
Burrito with pork, avocado and mustard sauce
This variation will appeal to those who like bright and unexpected combinations. We chop a large purple onion into a cube, fry in a pan with vegetable oil until transparent. Spread 300 g of pork in thin strips, add salt and spices for pork. Continue to fry, stirring with a spatula from time to time. Cut a large fresh cucumber and 100 g of cherry tomatoes into semicircles, and the avocado pulp into slices.
Mustard sauce for such a burrito. Mix 50 ml of olive oil, 2 tbsp. l not too sharp mustard, 1-2 tsp. wine vinegar, ¼ tsp. sugar, salt and black pepper to taste. Spread on a tortilla or pita bread slices of fried pork, 100 g of fresh spinach, cucumber, tomato and avocado, pour with mustard sauce and fold it in a thick envelope.
Burrito with ground beef and vegetables
The more vegetables in the burrito, the juicier and more interesting the filling. The following recipe is proof of this. As always, first of all, fry 300 g of ground beef with chopped onions, salt and a bouquet of spices for meat. While the meat is being cooked, finely chop a quarter of a small fork of white cabbage and 5-6 branches of curly parsley. Cut thin cucumber and 4–5 radishes into thin circles. Cut into slices half sweet red pepper and large fresh tomato. We also cut 3-4 slices of cheese into wide strips.
It remains to collect burritos. We spread warm ground beef on the tortilla. Top with assorted fresh chopped vegetables and roll the tortilla into a roll. Here you can do without sauce. Fresh crispy vegetables for juiciness is enough.
Burrito with minced beef, corn and thick tomato sauce
You can do the opposite - take a small amount of ingredients for the filling and focus on the sauce. Chop 300 g pieces of beef and quickly brown in a pan with butter. Then pour the diced onion and fry until the meat is ready. We remove partitions and seeds from red pepper, cut into slices. Mix sweet pepper with minced meat and 150 g of corn.
Remove the peel from 4 tomatoes, puree the pulp with a blender and simmer the resulting mass over low heat for 15 minutes. Then add 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil, 2 tsp. sugar and 0.5 tsp salt, keep on fire for another 5 minutes. At the end, put the garlic clove passed through the press and dry herbs to taste. Cover the sauce with a lid and let it brew.
We season the meat filling with thick tomato sauce directly in the pan, after which we spread it on the tortilla and make a burrito.

- 3 oz / 85 grams Mexican Chorizo Sausage (Homemade or Purchased) (without casing)
- 1 large burrito-sized tortilla
- 2 eggs (whipped)

How to do it
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit / 204 Celsius.
Fry the chorizo (without adding fat) in a small skillet over medium heat until cooked. Drain excess fat, keep chorizo in a pan.
Place the tortilla on a cookie sheet covered in a very wet clean dish towel. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and allow the heat to warm for about 3 minutes to soften.
Beat eggs and sour cream. Everything is fine if it is a little lumpy. Pour the eggs into the pot over the chorizo, add salt and cook over medium heat. Stir during cooking to cross the eggs.
Remove the tortilla from the oven and place it on a plate that you will use to serve the burrito. Put the eggs in the center of the tortilla, then on top with chopped cheese.
